Supported throughout the challenge by PUMA, Gronau began the extraordinary attempt in Bergheim, Germany on March 28th and crossed his 100th finish line on Sunday evening (5th July), wearing specially customized PUMA shoes. The achievement was officially verified by the Rekord-Institut für Deutschland.
Redefining the limits of physical and mental endurance, Gronau performed 100 back-to-back races at the men’s HYROX Pro weights without a single day’s break – making this one of the most impressive achievements in HYROX history.
As the project's lead partner and official sportswear provider, PUMA helped kit out the athlete to withstand the extreme demands of covering a total of 800 kilometres – the equivalent of running from London to Frankfurt – and 800 workout stations across the 100 days. The "100 Days, 100 HYROX" project was streamed live on YouTube and became one of the year's most talked-about fitness events.
PUMA recently revealed the all-new mint-lavendar Deviate NITRO™ Elite HYROX and its hybrid training partner, Activate NITRO™ TR HYROX; both are available to purchase now via puma.com, PUMA flagship stores and selected retailers globally.
